I want to point out that posting this totally unvarnished photo of myself shows that vanity is not an insurmountable obstacle in my life. What I intend with this post, is to let you know that I am going to have “cosmetic” eye-lid surgery tomorrow–the kind of “cosmetic” that Medicare, aka, you, the taxpayer!–will pay for. I did not ask for this surgery–my eye-doctor informed me that my eyelids have dropped so much as a result of old age and gravity, that I would have to have them tightened–apparently my eyelids reduce my field of vision quite a bit in their current droopy shape.
A surgeon begins a upper-eyelid blepharoplasty
The supposedly good part of this–other than seeing better–is that my eyes will look better. That is, once my raccoon face bruises will have faded away.
I will keep you up to date with the outcome, including every shade of bruise!
Think of Peter, for whom this will be much harder for me as I will be passed out and he has to do the waiting…
