Oh my Gerda. How can I respond to this brilliance? Aj just brought me a wad of tissues. I can say I could write for months and not produce such meaningful intense work. I could say that I could spend eternity in my closet and never achieve a glint of what you come up with. I could say that the whole American baloney of fighting horrible life happenings with some great attitude, energy, and ability that has been lost (if ever one had it) makes me sick to my stomach. But really, all I can say my beloved soul sister, is that war doesn’t work; we indeed must take what we are dealt to triumph in any way; and I thank all heavens above that I was fortunate to have drawn you as my help, consolation, support, and true sister. YOU made our “social occasions” happen regardless of my disorganization. YOU care-give to me and mine. You make all the difference in my life…and in so many other’s. You always will.

My dearest Shen, of course you write meaningful, intense words–a whole book’s worth. Your sentiments on always “fighting the battle” is so like mine. How wonderful to have a soul sister who shares my outlook–and goes to the trouble to discuss these things with me over lunch every week! Your words above are so beautiful, I am at a loss about how to adequately respond. Just know I love you and your care and company until my Grand Tetons will have worn down to teabags. (By the way, I forgot last night to post a final cartoon to end my blog–do look it up at the very end. I think you’ll love it! Endless love.
