Dearest Joan, so lovely hearing from you. I heard from Erna that things are better with you, happy to hear that. Of course nothing can take away your loss of the amazing, lovely, kind, and generous Derek. I think so ofetn about you and the beautiful love the two of you had. I check out Michael on Michelle’s facebook page every now and then. What a gorgeous child. I hope you see him often! Armfuls of love going your way.

Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Judy. As a fellow grandmother, you know the joy those little ones bring to one’s heart. I wish you and all those you love–especially the little ones–just all of the best.

Groete

Ek dank my sterre elke dag dat my kinders en kleinkinders naby is. Dis definitief ‘n yslike bonus.

I love the way you describe finding balance between your principled self and pragmatic self. Sometimes we take a stand, sometimes we just need to go with the flow (frequent advice as expressed by my brother-in-law)!

I miss you already, Debbie! It was so wonderful to see you several times during your visit and once all to myself. Thanks for your comment–I confess that i often have these inner battles. When it comes to my grandchildren in particular, I often choose the moment rather than the abstract principle. Please give my love to your sister and brother-in -law and Stash and everyone else.

Oh, Mae, I was so honored and thrilled and just plain happy to see you at my reading. Thanks so much for being in touch here too. I have not yet been in touch with Hilary, please give her my love. I have been having a tough time keeping up with everything, hope to catch up soon. My love to you and Hil and all your beautiful family.
